Today marks the beginning of the “douchebags” category on this blog.

Having recently sold a .com on TDNAM, I emailed the buyer requesting his info so I could transfer the domain. The guy writes back several days later with some essentially nonsensical blather:

Hello,

Did you receive the text message I sent you through GoDaddy’s internal server 5 days ago ? If TDNAM has not told you I already paid the name pls notify me so I can contact them.

Best,

PS : As to the transfer at MONIKER, once you confirm it is there, I will send you the transfer info

Okay, so obviously this joker doesn’t have a clue. Unfortunately for him, I don’t check every one of my many email addresses 18 times each day, so I didn’t get his brilliant communication right away.

I’m still waiting for the transfer info.

Today I receive an email from this idiot alleging that he has sent me multiple emails and that I have not responded, so he’s “referring this to TDNAM.”

Whatever.

Like they’re going to do anything except tell this rocket scientist to send me the transfer info.

Of course I replied to Mr. D-bag, in my kindest way of dealing with clueless domain newbies, that threatening me wasn’t going to get him anywhere and that if he needed some help with finding the transfer info, he would be better off asking for help instead of making pointless threats. We’ll see if he can pull his head out of his ass long enough to figure it out.

We domainers are generally an honest and helpful bunch. If you don’t know what the hell you’re doing, admit it and ask for help. Just don’t be a douchebag.
